Recent Achievements & Congratulations
Ashburton Wearable Arts – Friday 4 May
Two design teams comprising Emily Chamberlain and Phillippa Fleming, and Brooke Sandys, Bonny Thorpe recently entered the senior section of the Ashburton Youth Council Wearable Arts Competition held at the new premises of Youth Base. Emily and Rebecca Spittal modelled each design in front of a packed and very appreciative audience on Friday 4 May. It was a fantastic showcase for local talent and a tremendously well organised and presented event. The School is very proud of our students’ participation. You did us proud and have definitely inspired others to enter next year! Photos from the event will be uploaded soon – sorry for the delay!
Canterbury Road Race – Christchurch Thursday 10 May
Congratulations to Assina Dalglish (Y10) for making it into the NATIONAL team. She was placed 6th in her event, completing a mile in just over 11 minutes – an outstanding success. Full results and photos will be published shortly on our Events page.
Y7&8 Counties Cross Country – Friday 11 May
Congratulations to Aimee Elliott (1st) and Melanie Puckett (2nd) for their successes in the Girls 12 years and over race. This is the second year that Aimee has won her event. It is worth noting that Friday was a very busy day for Aimee and for Kaycee Jones (9th Place); they had to be in Christchurch by 7.30am; got a security clearance from CBS Arena and were back by 4pm and ready to compete in Mount Hutt College’s entry in the Christchurch Division of Stage Challenge at 8.35pm. Wow, what a big day and what impressive commitment.
Stage Challenge – Friday 11 May
Well done Mount Hutt College Stage Challenge team – placed Third in the Christchurch Division at CBS Arena on Friday night. We are immensely proud of your achievement. It was a fantastic day and cast, crew, teachers and parents who participated were greatly impressed by the intense energy and positive spirit exhibited by every School.
There will be a special assembly soon to present the official video of the performance and certificates.
A special thank you to parents of the cast and crew. Without your support, projects such as this would be very difficult for us to manage. Your time and contributions are much appreciated and valued by your children and their teachers.
