A good education has many rewards. It doesn’t always have to culminate in a tertiary level qualification, it can also be from what you pick up along the way. Beginning in early childhood, learning from your Parents and wider family, then on to primary and secondary schooling. These are the foundation blocks to the lives we will lead.
I was born and raised in Hokitika and went to school there. My Parents had a beef farm and that is where I got my love for farming. I attended Lincoln University and then went farming throughout Canterbury. My wife Tracey and I, along with our two children Lucy and Harry have been farming in Staveley for the last 10 years. I have previous experience on school boards and was most recently the board chair at Our Lady of the Snows primary school in Methven.
I am looking forward to offering the skills I have picked up along the way and know also that I will benefit from the knowledge and acumen of my fellow board members.
