Wayne Campbell
Having grown up in South Taranaki on a dairy farm, I was brought up with strong values of work ethic and respect along with the understanding that you can achieve anything if you set your mind to it. After leaving school I worked in the District court, covering criminal, family and civil sections until I focused on gaining a commerce degree at Otago University in Marketing, Management and Finance.
I went on to postgraduate studies in Tourism and set about changing the travel industry. My analytical skill set and entrepreneurial determination gave me the opportunity to work alongside the founders of Trade Me, Navman and various players in global enterprises. After dedicating so much of my life to that industry, it became time for me to focus on my young family and I altered my path to focus on a life back in the dairy industry.
It wasn’t long before I found myself setting records and farming 3200 cows before we decided to move to Methven in search of its lifestyle. Over the years I’ve represented NZ (Wrestling), competed in 6 Coast to Coasts (along with many other sporting achievements) and travelled extensively.
My 2 youngest children have committed to Mt Hutt College for their education and this has given me the opportunity to share my vast experience and give something back to the community. I currently sit on the Transport, International Students, Disciplinary, Property, Opuke and Solar project committees. I’m here to add value where possible.
