Learning Areas

Connected Curriculum is the integrated teaching of English, Social Sciences/ Aotearoa New Zealand Histories, DGT and Second Language Learning under one subject title over nine hours a week.

Sometimes, several of these subjects are taught together, while other times they are taught in isolation. We find this to be a nice ‘bridge’ when ākonga are transitioning between primary and high school, as they have one teacher for Connected Curriculum.

Learning from Connected Curriculum in Years 7 & 8 establishes a foundation for the separate subjects offered in secondary school.
