Test 1
Ākonga are encouraged to stretch their imaginations and begin examining their own visual and cultural identity with more critical awareness. Ākonga will be taught a range of drawing, sketching and notation strategies to help them express, understand and organise their ideas. They learn lots of practical maths and science through their observations, compositional arrangements and techniques.
Printmaking and design, painting and sculpture are part of the programme, with 2D and 3D projects alternating in Years 7 and 8 each year. Ākonga are introduced to the practices of keeping an ongoing personal Art journal and positive critical reflection.
