9 & 10 Mathematics
Everyone is a mathematician! The ability to estimate, calculate and communicate numbers, and recognise patterns and relationships, is important in all walks of life. At our school, ākonga learn the language of Maths and how to represent our understanding as symbols. They learn how to understand and use data to form conclusions and make predictions.
Important key competencies learnt in Maths are developing our thinking skills, problem-solving, collaborating and communicating with others, develop perseverance and resilience. A growth mindset and ‘the best mistake of the day’ are buzz words that are nurtured in our Maths setting.
To make the most of class time, we kindly remind all students to bring essential tools, including a ruler, calculator, and whiteboard marker. These tools are instrumental in engaging actively with the curriculum and participating effectively in class activities.
