Parent Representative

Kia ora koutou, I am honoured to be part of the Mount Hutt College Board of Trustees. As a passionate educator, parent, and community advocate, I bring a deep commitment to inclusive, future-focused education that empowers young people to thrive.

Currently, I serve as Programme Leader for the Health Leadership programme at AcademyEx, a postgraduate education provider focused on leadership, innovation, technology and supporting all of health New Zealand’s leaders & future leaders in navigating an increasingly digital future.

Alongside this, I am part owner of Mt Hutt Digital, where I create e-learning courses and support strategic learning planning and AI & technology integration for corporate organisations. This work allows me to combine creativity, digital innovation, and learning design to help businesses grow their people and capability.

My career spans over two decades in education and health. I’ve held roles as a Learning Developer in health, safety, and compliance education at Site Safe, and as a Midwifery Lecturer and Programme Leader at Ara Institute of Canterbury, where I was recognised for excellence in stakeholder engagement and teaching. I’ve also worked as a Lead Educator and Midwife with Plunket, and as a Midwifery Educator supporting both learners and whānau.

I hold a Bachelor of Midwifery, a Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery, and qualifications in Adult and Tertiary Teaching, Te Reo Māori, and Digital & Collaborative Learning. I am currently completing my Master’s in Contemporary Education through AcademyEx.

I bring strong governance experience, having served on the Board of Trustees at Our Lady of the Snows School (2015–2017), and contributed to numerous boards and working committees, including child advocacy groups, Canterbury infant feeding networks, service co-design initiatives, and advisory boards. These experiences have strengthened my ability to listen deeply, work collaboratively, and advocate for diverse perspectives.

I am deeply invested in Mount Hutt College’s success and want to ensure our school continues to provide high-quality, inclusive education that reflects the aspirations of our students, whānau, and wider community. I am privileged to serve and contribute to the ongoing growth and excellence of Mount Hutt College.
