Emma Bungard
Kia ora koutou. My name is Emma. I have been part of the Mount Hutt College community since starting as a Year 7 after coming from Methven Primary School. Over this time, I've been fortunate to get involved in many aspects of school life, including house leadership, Kapa Haka, productions, sporting events and several committees such as Promotions and Service. I was also on the centennial committee last year, which involved organising the event, guiding school tours and I performed in the choir as well. These opportunities have allowed me to grow as a leader while also connecting with students across different year levels.
Outside of school, I enjoy waterskiing, reading, listening to music, and going to concerts. Having been a competitive gymnast for ten years, I learned lessons in discipline, time management and resilience, which guides me in everything I do.
What I value most about Mount Hutt College is the sense of community and the way we support each other. As a Head Student in 2026, I aim to continue building a culture where every ākonga feels seen and supported, where conversations around mental health are normalised, and coping strategies are taught. I look forward to working alongside my fellow prefects to make the most of our final year at MHC, and to give back to our school that has given me so many opportunities.
