Robbie Humm

Head Student

My name is Robbie Humm, and I have been a student at Mount Hutt College since Year 7. Over this time, I have come to appreciate not only the wide range of opportunities the school has provided, but also the strong sense of community it fosters. It is an honour to have been appointed as one of the Head Students for 2026.

I have always pursued a broad range of interests, from sports such as golf and gridiron — where I play weak side linebacker, safety, and cornerback for the Canterbury Panthers — to more thoughtful hobbies like bonsai and music. These passions have helped shape who I am, both in and out of school. Music, in particular, has played a significant role in my time at Mount Hutt College. I have performed with several of the College’s bands as both a saxophonist and an upright bassist, and I strongly believe that learning an instrument is an experience that can benefit anyone.

What makes Mount Hutt College truly special is its diversity. No two students are alike, yet each person contributes in their own way to the growth and identity of our school. The year 2025 marked an important milestone, with the previous Head Students setting a high standard. Looking ahead to 2026, I hope to build on the momentum they created by celebrating the diversity, resilience, and strength of our community, while helping us grow not only as students, but as people.
