Celebrating success - Seb Booth
Current year 13 student Seb Booth had a busy end to the year, achieving his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, and through the Ashburton Air Cadets, he also was honoured to receive the Philip Walker Trophy. This award is presented to the NCO who has demonstrated progressive improvement in structural skills, dedication to the development of cadets, and enthusiasm for training duties.
More recently, he was one of 52 cadets from around the country, who attended the National Aviation Course (Navigation) at RNZAF Base Woodbourne from January 13th to 24th, 12 days of intense, information-packed training. Over just 10 days, he covered the entire Private Pilot’s Licence navigation syllabus.
One of the biggest highlights for Seb, was meeting the Chief Pilot of Air New Zealand and the Chief of the Air Force, a surreal experience hearing directly from leaders in the aviation world. Seb also received the Gus Pyper Memorial Trophy for Endeavour, recognising dedication, perseverance, and personal achievement in navigation training.
Congratulations Seb!
