EPro8 Challenge
Year 7 and 8
On Wednesday 21st May we held the MHC E Pro 8 Challenge In-School event. Students compete in teams of 4 to build Science and Engineering projects from the kits provided.
Students have two hours to choose 1 of 3 projects to build and gain points from. This year’s projects included a Jack in the Box, and a Ball Launcher and 10 teams participated.
Team Apex Warriors placed 1st (Isabella Barlass, Sophie Marr, Stephanie Lill, Scarlett Olsen). Team MTB Mechanics placed 2nd (Toby Stokes, Teddy Marr, Josh Green, Flint Gill).
Team The Bird is the Word were third (Sam Honeywell, Liam McConaghy, Olly King, Wilbur Cairns). First and second place getters go to the Inter-School competition at Ashburton Intermediate in June.
Year 9 and 10
This year we had two teams compete in the Year 9 and 10 competition at Riccarton High School. Projects ranged from laser shooting equipment, car park barrier arms, to foosball tables. The two teams we took represented the school with PRIDE, Meticulous Mechanics placing 5th and MHC 2 placing 2nd.
The second place getters now go to the final at Home Solutions in June.
