MHC Wellbeing Support

Eve Meyer

Eve Meyer - Head of Counselling.

MCouns (Distinction); PGDip Education (Counselling & Guidance); PGDipTeaching and Learning; BPhEd. NZAC (Provisional).

As the counsellor at MHC, my role is to support students with:

  • identifying and working through issues/problems e.g. anxiety, stress, anger, low mood, self harm, identity, self-esteem, relationship challenges, whānau concerns;
  • managing risk and keeping themselves safe;
  • coping with tough situations and preventing them from escalating;
  • enhancing interpersonal skills - communication, problem solving, decision-making;
  • developing self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and coping skills.

Counselling is a confidential and safe place to find support. Having somebody to talk to is often the first step towards seeking help and making changes. By providing a professional counselling service for students at MHC, it means that student confidentiality is respected. This is unless a student gives consent to include others or if there is a serious risk of harm.

I can also assist with liaison and referral to community and specialist mental health agencies when required.

It’s really easy for students and whānau to contact me if you have any questions and/or make a time to meet:
