Exciting Milestone for Ōpuke Innovation Hub: Turning the Soil for Stage One Development

Mount Hutt College is thrilled to announce the start of the first turning of the soil for the Ōpuke Innovation Hub’s stage one development. This significant milestone marks the beginning of a visionary project that will play a crucial role in strengthening the Trades and Agriculture provision for learners at the college.
The first stage of development will feature a 13m x 27m pole shed, alongside a greenhouse and shade house. These facilities are essential for housing the resources needed to support and enhance the success of the program in the years to come. The Ōpuke Innovation Hub is designed to provide students with the tools and opportunities to thrive in both trades and agriculture, ensuring they are well-equipped for the workforce and their futures.
With a focus on delivering an inspiring, fit-for-purpose curriculum, the hub will engage and motivate students, preparing them for their careers and personal development. The program will foster essential skills and attributes, empowering students to become not only successful employees but well-rounded individuals. Through this initiative, we aim to open students’ eyes to the vast opportunities available to them, allowing them to find their passions and uncover the potential they hold.
This exciting time marks a new chapter for Mount Hutt College, its students, and the wider community—one that promises lasting benefits for years to come. The Ōpuke Innovation Hub is set to become a cornerstone of growth and opportunity, now and in the future.
