Waste Free Periods

Period Products

Last week, we hosted Acacia from Waste-Ed for a free guest presentation about Waste Free Periods as a result of Waste-Ed’s partnership with our local council. This ran as a drop-in, lunchtime session for any student who wanted to attend.

Students who attended enjoyed the factual, no shame presentation and opportunity to ask questions and look at the products available, they even got freebies!

Attached is further information including links to video modules about periods, info about puberty as well as discount codes for the products they were talking about.

Don't forget, the school gets free period products funded by the government, which if you need them, are in the sick bay - you can just go in and get them, or see Mrs Roderick. Unfortunately they aren't the waste free kind but they are there if you need them. You are more than welcome to get supplies to take home, they aren’t just for use during school time. Paper bags are supplied for discrete transportation of products.

Feel free to forward the information on to the wāhine in your life and for more info, see https://www.wastedkate.co.nz/wastedperiods
