Ōpuke Innovation Hub Update

OIH

As you will have seen Phase 1 and 2 of the Ōpuke Innovation Hub is officially underway!

Site and services work is in progress, and Big River Builders have begun constructing the pole shed. Phase 1 will feature a new entrance, car park, driveway and a multi use pole shed, which includes two enclosed workspaces: one tailored for trades and another for agriculture. At its heart, a central covered area will provide space for student-led construction projects.

Phase 2  is generously funded by the Mackenzie Charitable Foundation and will include a large greenhouse, shade house, and new garden beds to support our agricultural initiatives. Construction for both phases is scheduled to be completed by the end of July, marking an exciting milestone for our school and our community.

We look forward to sharing the progress with alumni, the community and current families at our centennial and sharing our vision for phase 3 - a learning hub consisting of  a trades/muiltiuse classroom, an agricultural laboratory, kitchen and office space.  This will become a community asset, available out of school hours to a variety of local groups.

Below are some artist impressions/renders which share our vision.
