Country High Schools Music Festival

On Friday 4 April, Mount Hutt College’s Music Department hosted the Country High Schools Music Festival. Five Canterbury high schools traveled to MHC to participate in a day of instrumental and vocal workshops, culminating in an evening Concert.
Four groups performed - the Preliminary Band, the Strings Group, the Choir and the Concert Band, with a special guest performance by MHC’s Boomwhacker Percussion Group known as The Boomshackalackers.
Participating schools included Mount Hutt College, Rangiora High School, Kaiapoi High School, Lincoln High School, Ellesmere College and Rolleston College. Mount Hutt College had an incredible 49 students participating in the festival, the most from any school.
