Pi Day

Pi Day

On Friday the 14th March the Academic Committee hosted Pi day at school for the second year in a row. What this involved was students trying to recite as many numbers of Pi as possible. Students who recited more than 5 digits after 3.14 received a lolly. Whoever recited the most numbers of Pi got to throw a pie at Mr Tantau, Head of Faculty for Maths. This event was held at second lunch and students could come into the library and recite the digits of Pi that they remembered.

This event got a lot of students involved through all years and It was great to see so many people participate.

151 digits of Pi was the record that day and that was done by Keeley Galbraith, who then got to throw a pie at Mr Tantau. She was the winner for the second year in a row.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and participated in this event, it was a huge success.

Ngā mihi
