1st XV Rugby
On Wednesday the 14th of May the Mount Hutt College 1st XV travelled to Rangiora High School to play their 2nd XV in the first round of the Brockbank Graves tournament. With a short warm up the boys performed the school haka and got into the game.
The Mount Hutt boys warmed up as the game went along and the lineouts and scrums improved in the second half, they dominated the open field and territory allowing them to score 6 tries to 1 with 2 being converted. Mount Hutt College won the game 34-7. The team this year is made up of mainly Year 11 students with a mix of Year 10,12 and 13 to fill the numbers. They were led by Finn Veix, Arlyn Whittaker and Ryan Richan.
This week on the 21st of May they play Papanui 1st XV at 3pm on the Mount Hutt College front field.
