Leader's Letters
During the first four weeks of Term 3, we have seen a nice variety of accomplishments and activities.
The students and teachers involved in the recent School Production 'No Ill Feeling' did an amazing job and was a massive hit for a range of ages. I personally loved it and was impressed by all the actors and behind-the-scenes with their level of talent. Thank you to everyone who was involved, you all made Mount Hutt College proud.
Mount Hutt College also hosted the Mid Canterbury Secondary Principals Association Conference, with all Year 13 students participating in welcoming all guests with the school Haka and Waiata, and 'Ko Te Waipounamu'. Thank you to Naite and Mrs Fordyce for doing a Karanga, Will for doing a Karakia and Henry for leading the Haka.
We have also had a great start to the Wednesday ski option with large numbers participating and making the most of our local Maunga, Opuke. All the best to everyone still to compete in any secondary school snowsports champs coming up.
The Environment Committee have a big term as we see all our planning for recycling innovations around Mount Hutt College starting to come into place. Keep an eye out in the classrooms for paper reuse bins starting up, and also thanks to the assistance from the Ashburton District Council and EcoEducate we will hopefully have a new recycling system up and running in the near future.
