Japan Trip
Last week our Japan 2024 group travelled to Ashburton to attend a Japanese Cultural Awareness Workshop, organised in partnership with Hakatere Multicultural Council and Volunteering Mid & South Canterbury. The group was thrilled to learn more about Japanese culture and social protocols from long-time Ashburton resident Chiyo Hunt from Japan (far right). Thank you to everyone in the community who has supported our fundraising efforts thus far. We are currently holding a giant raffle with three huge hampers as prizes which include delicious food items, and vouchers from local businesses. Tickets are available from the college office. Keep an eye out for information about the huge quiz and auction we are planning for Term 1 next year. In the meantime, if anyone has any tasks over summer they need an extra few hands for, please get in contact with the MHC office 03 302 8437.
