Elite Road Nationals
Lucy Reeve (Yr 13) completed in the Elite Road Nationals in Timaru during Thursday 8th and Saturday 10th February. Lucy has made phenomenal progress in her cycling over the past 12 months, having previously been introduced to cycling as part of the Coast to Coast race in a MHC team.
Since fully committing to cycling, Lucy has completed weekly trips to Chch as she figures out if she will hone in on 'track racing', or 'road racing' over the coming months. Often completing 300km+ per week on the bike, the hard work paid off, with Lucy placing 4th in the U19 women's Time Trial (an agonisingly 1 second off 3rd position and 2 seconds off 2nd position in the approximately 25min race).
After a recovery day, Lucy was racing in the 73km road race on Saturday and finished a very respectable 5th position after having a mechanical issue in the 2nd of the 3 lap course.
