Mount Hutt College's Wednesday Active Programme: Fostering Well-being

Active

Mount Hutt College continues its dynamic Wednesday Active Programme this term. This weekly event offers students a wide array of engaging activities, moving beyond the traditional classroom setting to promote physical and emotional well-being.

Every Wednesday afternoon, the school transforms into a hub of diverse recreational pursuits. Students can choose from an impressive selection of activities, including popular winter sports like skiing and snowboarding, taking full advantage of Mount Hutt Opuke on our doorstep. Beyond the slopes, the programme also encompasses activities such as crafts, art, gym classes, claybird shooting, technology with our MHC RAD Club, production rehearsals, walking group and badminton. This variety not only caters to different passions, but also encourages students to step outside of their comfort zones and try something new.

The Wednesday Active Programme is more than just an opportunity for physical activity; it's a vital component of Mount Hutt College's broader vision to nurture well-rounded individuals. By providing these diverse opportunities, we aim to develop students' "Body | Tinana" alongside their "Mind | Hinengaro" and "Spirit | Wairua." The programme underscores the importance of participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship, fostering valuable life skills.d. We are committed to connecting our students with their unique local environment and building a vibrant, active school community.
