Canterbury Primary Zones Athletics -

On Wednesday 29th Nov, MHC sent 10 students who qualified to represent Mid Canterbury at the Canterbury Zones athletics at Nga Puna Wai stadium in Christchurch for the Primary athletics. This is one of the biggest athletics events held in the South Island each year.

Mount Hutt College students represented our school with Pride and all competed extremely well considering how many competitors were in each event.

The Long jump pit displayed some excitement as we had 3 of our students all pass the school record which has been held by Mark Santy since 1983!

Well done to Cam McCaw, Freddy Cairns and Flynn Whittaker who all jumped past Mark's record of 4.46m.

Flynn Whittaker now holds this new record with a massive jump of 4.69m and Flynn also placed 2nd overall for the Year 7 boys Long Jump at the Canterbury event.

Congratulations Flynn!
