Leader's Letters

During the last few weeks of term one there were several events that were being run which involved heaps of participation. This included the easter basket hunt, jelly bean in a jar competition and the big buddy little buddy teddy bear picnic. These events were run at the end of the term in the last week successfully by committees which all year groups were involved in. It was great to see all of the little buddies with their big buddies at the teddy bear picnic having fun and talking before the holidays. It was a great way to catch up and check in on the little buddies as well.
On the 25th of April Methven held their Anzac day parade. It was so great to see lots of students from the school coming along in their school uniform to walk in the parade showing respect. In the afternoon on the same day as the Anzac day parade Mount Hutt College was celebrating the centennial of the school. The students on the Centennial Committee were there to help on the day, stationed in a room and available to help and to answer any questions. It was great hearing all of the past stories and seeing all the past students return to the school. Mount Hutt College looked amazing for this day and made everyone very proud.
Coming up in the first few weeks of term two we have got Cross Country. This is a great event to show house participation. It would be great to see students giving it a go and showing pride and supporting their house!
