Literacy / Numeracy Parent Evening

Parent Evening

On Tuesday 1st April we held a Level 1 literacy/numeracy parent evening. It was fantastic to have so many parents come along to find out more about the co-requisite tests, how these work and pathways for students to gain literacy and numeracy.

Literacy and numeracy are important skills for life, and these are vital for success with any NCEA Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3 qualification. Just a reminder that parents/caregivers can utilise the KAMAR parent portal to see whether their child has their L1 literacy and numeracy.

Login to the portal and follow the pathway below:

Go to www.mounthuttcollege.co.nz

Click on Whānau/Parents and then Whānau Portal (KAMAR).

Login to the portal.

Click on 'Results'

Click on 'NCEA Summary'

Scroll down until you see the heading 'NCEA qualification (80 credits required)' at the top of a table.

If the literacy and numeracy boxes in the table are ticked, it means that the student has successfully gained those criteria.

Co-Requisite Exams are in Term 2, Week 4 (Year 10s) and, Week 5 (Year 11-13).

Thank you for your support during this evening, and the continued support our learners receive from their whānau. We will look to run the evening again later in the year.
