World Day for Cultural Diversity

On Wednesday, May 21st. The cultural committee held a cultural wear display during first lunch to celebrate the international world day for cultural diversity.
The cultural committee is doing their best to promote diversity and share the different cultures we have in Mount Hutt College. We thought this day was a great opportunity to show case diversity in cultures through music and cultural wear.
We had a few variations of cultural wear modelled by some students which consisted of the Fillipiniana Bolero(Crème and White top pieces), Lehenga (Purple dress) and Gand Afghani (Black and Green dresses). The students shared the origins of the cultural wear they modelled and shared some of the music from their culture.
There were many curious students who came to listen and enjoy the display and music. Hopefully next year, more students will come along and wear their cultural wear and share their culture too.
