ASSS Volleyball Tournaments

Two great days of volleyball saw four teams compete in a challenging competition. A
lack of game time meant a quick learning curve of competitiveness was required as
well as finding team coherence. Some completely forgot most of what they learnt in
training and others were over-awed by the noise, opposition and challenge.
However, most players were able to break through these challenges and most
games were close (wins and losses).
A big congratulations to the Boys Black team who finished 5th out of 12. They had
faced WBHS in their first game and pushed them hard eventually losing 2-1 and only
a few points behind (65 points to win). WBHS went on to win the tournament.
Due to lower entries our new teams were forced into higher grades with both boys’
teams being in the A grade and the girls’ forced to play higher too making for a tough
day. The draw was hard on all teams with back-to-back games or duty.
A huge thank you to Keeley and Liam who came and reffed our games. Also to Olé
and Anna who helped manage the teams and injuries.
