SHE Project

In Manaaki stars, our group in 11BR had decided to dedicate our project to giving to those in our community. We had made ideas in which shelters we could help and had a hard time deciding, till we finally agreed to choose SHE; due to the fact that we felt it was overlooked in our community.
At first we contacted the women's shelter asking if they were open to donations, learning they weren’t, they had decided to help us find similar groups by giving us their website, which is how we landed at SHE. One in three women in New Zealand has experienced abuse in their life, which is why having a shelter like SHE who helps those women, really fortunate for our society.
Helping SHE became a no brainer after understanding their purpose and values. After getting the thumbs up from SHE that they were open to donations, we wasted no time and started executing our plan. Our group worked hard in term 2 promoting SHE and with all the work many amazing people came forward and donated many things, some being brand new.
We were so thankful for these people because the amount of donations they had given made an impact to the women and even the children who live in the care of SHE.
