2026 Prefects
From the Hinengaro Domain, we have Rose Fletcher Young, Milla Leadley & Jak van den Heuvel leading the Academic, Promotions and Arts Committees.
These committees have a history of running the highly contested chess competition, producing the school magazine, and running events such as Arts Evenings and Improv Nights. However, we look forward to seeing them bring their own visions to life with their committees, when they form at the beginning of next year!
From the Wairua Domain, we have Anna Quigley, Jordan Oates & Sophia Maw leading the Wellbeing, Cultural & Social Committees.
These committees have a strong legacy of running things such as Pink Shirt Day events, celebrating language weeks & cultures within our school, school socials and of course, the school ball.
From the Tinana Domain, Max Rooney, Charlie Morris & Georgia Monk will lead the Sport & Fitness, Environment & Service Committees.
Historically, these committees have been in charge of inter-class sport competitions, the infamous Staff vs Student games, improving recycling systems in the school, running recycled art competitions, weekly Kickstart Morning Tea, and the can drive for local food banks.
Last, but by no means least, from the Wairua Domain, we have our Junior Council Prefect, Pinky Ancheta.
Pinky has demonstrated a strong ability to engage students from across the kura - recently planning an Amazing Race event for Whole School Ski Day's Basecamp house competition (along with Rose who is also a 2026 Prefect) - so we can't wait to see how she supports and encourages the younger students in our school to develop their involvement in MHC and skills as leaders.
This year the Junior Council ran the Jumping June fundraiser for Heart Kids; what will they turn their attention to in 2026?
We can't wait to see what you plan for 2026!
The final processes of appointing student leaders for 2026 will take place in Term 4 with House Captains and something new - stay tuned! ![]()
