Congratulations to new Year 12 student Jack Gorrie for a fantastic performance at the recent Under 19 Elite National Road Cycling Championships, held in Cambridge over Waitangi weekend.
Racing off against 33 of the country’s elite riders, many from professional development programs, Jack proved that he belongs at the very top. Representing local Cycling Club Tinwald, he tackled a brutal 124km course with over 1100m of climbing, finishing a commendable tenth in the lead bunch of riders.
With only one year of racing under his belt, Jack is gearing up to represent Mount Hutt College at Regional, South Island, and National events over the coming months.
