SNOWSPORTS TERM 3 - GENERAL INFORMATION 2026:
CLASS TIME
Students will not miss any class time - we have a restructured day here at school each
Weds. Classes are 45min periods 1-4 with our Active program happening from 1:15pm-3pm
for those still on school grounds. Period 4 ends at 12.15pm and students may come to
school in their Ski clothing. The buses leave school at 12:30pm sharp and returning at 5pm.
HIRE OF EQUIPMENT
Students can leave their ski or snowboard gear out on the front field on Weds morning and
then move them to the bus when they come out to leave.
If hiring gear from one of local businesses (Big Als, Alpine Sport) they will be delivered to
school by the business each week named and then collected again upon arrival back to
school. Information for both of these will be provided to us shortly and sent out to families.
You can also hire gear from Mt Hutt (link for that has yet to come out).
LESSONS
These are to be done through Mt Hutt on the link we advertised in our email and above.
These are recommended for our Year 7s and new students.
ON THE MOUNTAIN
We expect all students to ski with others to their ability and to always have one or more
people skiing with them at all times.
Students are to be responsible and keep track of the time so they arrive at lessons on time
and are back in time for the bus departure which is 4:10pm.
We have staff up the mountain who are skiing and also two staff in the cafe at all times for
student support.
SAFETY BRIEFING
Students are given a safety and behavior briefing at school on the first Monday of Term 3.
Students also get a briefing from Mt Hutt staff on each bus upon arrival for week 1.
PARENTS UP THE MOUNTAIN
If you are a parent/caregiver and are up the mountain and would like to bring your child
home (child must travel UP with school) then you must email [email protected]
before 11am each Weds so we can let staff know before they depart. Parents have to
physically sign their child out with staff in the cafe up the mountain before taking them so we
know they are safe and collected.
EMERGENCY SUPPORT
Mt Hutt has a great medical team working up there at all times. MHC has an emergency
vehicle and a staff member who will be contacted if your child needs assistance and this
staff member will be in contact with school and parents to get them down safely from the
mountain if needed.
FINANCIAL
Buses this year will cost $35 per student per week. This is a total of $350 for the term
payable to MHC. Students will not be refunded for this unless the mountain is closed and we
send a refund at the end of the term. If you have an injury or other reason to request a
refund then you must email the principal for approval.
Lessons are to be ordered online with Mt Hutt via this link:
