Reminders of School Expectations
Reminders of School Expectations
- Students are expected to come directly to school once they arrive by bus. Students should not being getting off the bus to go down town to the shops.
- Lollies. We are having issues with students bringing lollies to school (possibly buying them from the shops once they've gotten off the bus) for eating or selling at school. Lollies, fizzy drink and energy drinks should not be brought to school, consumed or sold to others at school.
- The whole school was reminded in a recent assembly that it is against the law to capture footage of students or staff while at school. This is a matter of privacy, and includes using phones or laptops to do so. All students have been given tape, which is also available in the office, to cover their cameras while at school. It is a student's responsibility to ensure their cameras are taped while at school.
- From 8.40am (warning bell) to 3.10pm (end of school bell) phones are expected to be turned off and out of sight. The exception to that is in the cafe line - students can get their phone out briefly to pay digitally. If students need to contact whānau during the day, they should do so via the office. There are no warnings if students have their phones out without permission. First offense - cellphone in office until end of day. Second offense - cellphone in the safe until a parent collects it. Third offense - follow up from Senior Leadership Team.
